Hand lettering for beginners at the Canvas Cafe
Learn a new skill, get creative and hand letter your own slogan or quote to take home.
In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of hand lettering: how to draw neat and legible letters, how to lay out your lettering composition, plus tips and techniques to embellish your letters and turn typography into art.
In the first part of the workshop we will practise drawing different kinds of typefaces and using guidelines and grids; in the second part I will guide you to letter a short quote or slogan of your choice and create your own artwork with pencils, brush pens and markers on an A4 piece of paper to keep and frame - or gift to someone :)
This will be a relaxed one and a half hour session with plenty of time to get into your creative zone, and to enjoy some delicious food and drinks from the cafe.
Open to everyone, no experience needed. All materials will be provided.
